Opeyemi Orioye, LL.B. (Hons) Ibadan, B.L, ACTI, was called to the Nigerian Bar and enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in September, 2003. He has been an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria since 2007.

He has been in active litigation since he was called to bar starting his career at the chambers of Abiola Orioye & Co., Ibadan, Oyo State in 2003.

In 2005, he practiced, one after the other, in the Lagos firms of Taiwo Adeoluwa & Associates, ABFR & Co. and Carew, Elemide & Goodluck (which later transformed to Proteus Law Office). He was with CEG/Proteus till 2009 when he joined Taiwo Ajala & Co.

He returned to the Lagos office of Abiola Orioye & Co., which transitioned to Filial Partners, co-founded with his senior colleague and brother in 2009.

The invaluable training he received from all these firms reflected in the growth of the practice of Filial partners.

He has a varied and dynamic experience in diverse areas of law including general commercial practice – company registration and secretarial duties; tax practice; Mortgages; debt recovery/management; conveyancing, real estate documentation/title registration; Commercial Contract Agreements- drafting and review; Intellectual Property- trademarks, patents and copyright; family and probate matters, estate planning and succession.

He also engages in civil litigations – land/real property; leases/tenancies; commercial disputes; tax; election petitions; matrimonial causes; and civil appeals.

He has also engaged in tax consultancy practice under the firm of Perfect Logic Solution Consultancy, which he also co-founded. The firm consulted, among others, as a Tax Audit Monitoring Agent (TAMA) for Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) and Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS).

He is an advocate of alternative dispute resolution, especially Mediation, which has seen him settled cases at the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse and in private mediation sessions.

He has a passion for legal support of SMEs, which has resulted in personally motivating a good number of start-ups, many of which have grown from zero to multi-million-naira companies. This is done by entrenching corporate governance structures and process driven operations in clients’ businesses.

He has mentored many young lawyers and law students.
